I think you only think it's 10x better than TVPad 4 because of the current situation.

I like the UB box for it's live channels but there are some nagging issues with it.

    1) streams will drop and stop work (in my personal experice it happened everyday at around 10AM EST - 2PM EST) Maybe this is because their server is overloaded during primetime in the Asia country

    2) The live stream app will stop working for some reason. And you need to quit the app completely then back to the main interface. Then you will have to relaunch the live tv app

    3) The live channel app surfing experience is subpar. For example, the channels are ordered based on the category they are in. So if you go up and down using the cursor you won't get the same channels as you would expect as if you are looking at the category view.

    4) Their vod app still don't work...

The seller sent me the same links yesterday.

I like the UB Box, so far so good, although the HDMI port does not work with my TV for some reasons, the picture is still okay with the AV cables. Yep, the ???? is the best and I don't think I really need the fixed 12 hours time shift as in the TVPAD for my purpose. I can "create" my own amount of "time shift" any time with the ???? for my mom at her very convenience time to watch.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

The replay app does somewhat replace the timeshft, especially if you dont live in a region that is exactly 12 hrs difference.

The annoying part of the replay app is you have to choose another slot after the current show ends. Some people just prefer to set it and let it run through the day.

For older retired people I think the timeshift is pretty important because the if they go by the replay app and watch it throughout the day it will get pretty tiresome .

Oh... I haven't tried that much and not notice if an user input is needed bertween shows yet. The app I am talking about for ???? is called ???.

Anyways, I think I am good with either ways. I hardly watch or interested in those TV shows myself and this is just for my mom. I normally started the HK LIVE stream in the morning for her before I head to work. I feel that this is important for an elderly person especially in the winter time because she cannot go out of the house by herself and at least the house is now not complete dead silent when I am at work. This can give her a feel or sense of time as well to arrange her work and her favorites shows . And when I get home, I can "??" and watch the 2 main TVB dramas with her at night again, just to spend time with her and to assess if she is normal or not feeling well.

I feel that, even a normal young person trapped in a house of silence all day, and day after day, will develop issues and become ????. That is why I hate TVPAD very much if they really put TVPAD 1/2/3 to death! My TVPAD 3 is just about a year old, they are not only immortal to the business in general, they can also become murder of a lot of elderly people oversea!

Elderly people don't steal or watch the stream all day long, it is just something there to make them feel secure, comfort, and ????type of home warm. They probably just watch on and off a couple of hours a day!

Yes, Padman is right, VOD not works all the time, but Live TV and Dramas works good, Replay OK too.
    I add " CIBN???? & ???? 3 " , makes me not enough time to sleep in X'mas
As someone said, for 126.99 if it can works good for one year, already worth the money.

Well of course, not everyone is in the same situation.

For example my mom that doesn't work and she has all day usually. From what I noticed she uses the VOD feature more. Then the Live tv when eating dinner

Whereas for my dad, he runs a store so it's ideal for him to watch the time shift during his day.

    Vector.

as far as I can tell, UBox's VOD is lacking, more so for Korean, so if you want Korean VOD, use some that is available through UBVOD / other various VOD apps ( can't type Chinese dont' even know what apps are called ) and also download and install Moatv from moatv.cn until we can find better VOD app

The Korean app for the the now defunct TVPad3 viewed most often is "Solive"...do you happen to remember if that particular app is included in the UB Box or are the TVPad Apps inclusive to TVPad?

I don't know what app I can use to record live TV as well. I only watch the live or the "7-day backup".

Solive used to be sepearte site that provided online content which they worked with TVPAD and came up with app specific for TVPAD, however, since I did hear that TVPAD 4 users were using Solive, not sure if there is APK out there some where for it as TVPAD4 is android based.

But, if you get Ubox, I would not use solive as Ubox live channel are 100 times better than solive for Korean live channels
