OK! OK!OK! OMG! Purevpn connected to tvp4 WITH fw 5.06! Tomato123 you are saved!
The instruction I gave before was by memory because I didn't want to mess with the reborn tvpad4 fw5.054.
I attempted purevpn on tvpad fw 5.06 Here it is
Set DNS to 183.57.43.70.
-Disconnect Ethernet cable then pull power cord and reconnect cord.
-Wait for tvpad4 reboot with Ethernet cable disconnected.
-Move cursor to tvp store get inside stay there.
-Reconnect Ethernet cable wait till the apps icons appear.
-Go to system tools and download app????file manager, open it ,an android icon + word apk will show up in a box .
-Plug in Usb drive with the purevpn apk in it. Get that onthe net.
-click on that android apk installation box in the ??file manager to install the purevpn apk.
-Run the purevpn apk pick "already a member " fill in user name and password and save it and connect.
-Screen will say not connected go to settings. You can also press menu on your remote to find settings menu
-Android setting page will show up. Go to wifi setting area with a "more" area click that.
-Next page shows the word VPN click on that.
-Android asks you to set new password to get into VPN section.
-Once in the blank VPN page, look for the +sign in the upper right corner to add new VPN.
-Fill in the boxes(see the video from my last message)
-Make up an id name like "purev".
-Server address I put "purevpn.com" then
username and password.
-save and connect . It did not work.
-Hit back button on remote to go back to the ??file manager android apk box to install again the purevpn apk and run
app from there.
Your saved username and password would show up. Wait to connect or hit menu button to change server to HK or anywhere I like Romania.
-Watching Now! Can start apps on desktop no restrictions at all. Don't change DNS while connected to purevpn, you get no Ethernet connection
and have to redo whole restore tvpad4 usb app loading and this.NYC
Great work! Can you watch the TVB and BETV Plus? After you power it off, do you have to load the VPN app first every time you power it on. The problem is that the TV Pad Store had removed ???????BETV Plus, HKTV??????I had restore my TV Pad 4 and all those 4 best Chinese apps are gone, I don't know where to re-install those apps. Is it possible to connect 5 differnt TV Pad 4 in 5 different locations?
I bought the TigerVPN for $29 lifetime subscriptions for one device. I couldn't figure how to install it. I downloaded an APK file for TigerVPN but it has no place to put in my user name and password. On Your Youtube video, the person use ???? to setup the VPN on a tablet. The TV Pad 4 seems to be totally different. Firstly, it doesn't have the Google Play Store. Tiger VPN instructions is for install VPN on an Andriod cell phone or tablet by go to settings, advanced settings, and VPN. TV Pad has no such thing in their Setting Menu. Maybe install it on a VPN router is easier.
Get your missing apps from from the tvp4 firmware+ apps thread. Download the 23 app zip file and unzip it to your usb drive stick.Plug in the usb stick to tvp4 and batch installer will come up install all.
To install your vpn apk you need any file manager app.??????is one. Find it under system tools in the store.
Check your vpn app for menu ,press menu button may pop it up. Good luck. I have not unplug tvpad4 yet just enjoying the two reborn tvpad4s fw5.056 and fw5.06. Yes up to 5 devices at the dame time.
@pappy - where the purevpn app asks for Server Address, should you not put ca1.purevpn.net or ro1.purevpn.net or hk1.purevpn.net instead of purevpn.com?
Hi Somebody, it's in the android settings. Get there in the purevpn app by pressing menu button on the remote or go to upper right corner of app screen ans click on? icon. Go into settings. I have the option of choosing servers everywhere in the world. I didn't know the hk server address anyway. It was luck that I stumbled into the android settings.

Changing dns is for some apps that needs it most tvb apps need the dns

I would suggest to use 2 routers method with Private Internet Access vpn service. VPN service is $59.95 for 2 years, and it has a very high speed rate. $44.99 a Linksys E1200 router to act as a second router. They are worth to spend on.
Do you need to change DNS with Private Internet Access?

If you are refering to the Tvpad DNS, then I just keep it as DNS 49.xx. I have not tried to use auto yet. I can turn on or off the Tvpad without any problem.

Cisco Linksys E1200 router do not say it is a VPN router. Do you need a router to say VPN on the spec in order to do VPN. I know a person is selling the Cisco E800 with VPN. Maybe he did some firmware modification on it. I don't know the cheaper routers can do VPN. All VPN router are more expensive except TP-Link N300 is $26.83 on Amazon.
