All, I hate to keep bringing this back but please bare with me while I get this thing working again. I downgraded from 5.066 to 5.045 using Mr Ben’s awesome method. I am in NY and using Verizon fios. My TVPAD 4 is connected via WIFI. I cant get the 2.052APK to work for on Demand and certain Yue TV v.40 functions don’t work, same with BETV v3.8.
When on WIFI, does AUTO or Manual DNS matter? The only way I can get the apps noted above is to connect via VPN. I did subscribe for VPN but it seems like most of you out of NY don’t need this so I would like to avoid the extra connection. I just cant figure out what the issue is. I also did a hard reset but still no luck. How is everyone connected to the internet on their TVPAD, WIFI or Ethernet? If connected to Ethernet, are you using LiveWire Powerline to extend your network from a router?
Whether wifi or Ethernet cable the manual and auto settings must match in the top three lines and use manual DNS 158... to connect . In NYC FiOS works with YueTV and 36tv in auto but recommend manual setting
i did that. I connect ethernet, acquire the info on top 3 lines and then copied and pasted it to manaual and chnage to working DNS. Switched back to WIFI but i cant for the life of me get the VOD to work on those apps.
Only way to get it running is to use the VPN (2nd routter) but this connection is now causing issue with my network so my only option (unless i find a fix) is to use WIFI.
With the VPN method, since i was experiencing issue lately, FIOS tech replaced EVERYTHING in my home, splitter, ONT, ROUTER and cable box. But when i plug in the powerline adapter to run the 2nd router, i get internet outage and unstable connection. Not sure why as ive used this in the past.
Notice that YueTV latest version is 0.42 not 0.40. My guess is if you use 0.42, you should be able to use it with auto DNS.
BETV V3.8 / 港粵網路電視 is not written for USA. You need to connect to VPN or change to a working DNS in order to get it working.

To downgrade, Do I have to use a micro SD card? Why USB memory stick won't work (tried)? Thx.
"recovery.img" file must be placed on sdcard, because the default boot recovery from sdcard. Backup files can be put in the USB, but Tvpad4 only one USB interface.
I'm in the UK downgraded my tvpad4 to 5.054, network test show error code 1. No picture adverts on the right. When I tried to update it says abnormal network. What am I doing wrong?

To my sd card, put it into the tvpad using the easy method, the upgrade screen did come up, but it said the upgrade file not exit in sd card ????
Can I use it to backup and restore my Tvpad?
