Anyone knows where I can get the 5.054 firmware to flash back? I got updated to 5.06, and life is never the same.
I can get to the bootloader. Just need the file.
I just chat with TVpad live support, and \i have TVPAD 4 , and successfully update and restore everything as follows :
(1) according to support, only TVPAD 4 needs to update firmware. my TVPAD 4 is shipped from Hong Kong, with firmware version 5.04. Prior to upgrade, you need to MANUALLY change the DNS - I use the one you labelled as Europe zone (183.57.43.70) - although my location is Vancouver, BC, Canada.
(2) after DNS is changed, remember to unplug the power cord to force cold boot
(3) after TVPAD 4 is up, then go to setting and upgrade software to version 5.06
(4) once it is done, go to app store and install app as day one
(5) Mine TVPAD 4 is now work like a charm
AW W, thank for your contribution. Your $30 is well spent & your DNS 107 works well to me. TVB streamline & all cantonese dramas come alive again, but all K dramas app are all gone. (K dramas could be seen if I switch back to auto DNS according to my wife) My TVpad 3 version is Gvos..4.20. Model M358_4100 and I am in east bay area of California.
I used @whocares instructions and it worked to restore the apps just yesterday. I am in the northern CA area. I still have version 5.054 and nothing is upgraded. This is with TVPAD4.
Anyone have luck uploading the YUETV? I am missing the preloaded TVB dramas. I followed their intructions but could get nothing to pop up on my add screen once the USB is inserted.
UPDATE-I got the YUETV to work. Need to have the apps out of folder after it is unzipped. Otherwise, it will not pop up automatically once the USB is inserted.

I am using tvpad3, model number M358_4100, TVpad version GVOS 4.18, Android version 2.3.4.

I updated to 5.06 on the 163 DNS (not a very good idea...., but at the time, it did not allow me to exit the update window, so I did.), the 163 no longer works, as with many other DNS. I can only do auto, and install some apks. Not all apks work. None of the live channel works. No TVB. I can only get VST, to watch vod. I like to see if I can get back to 5.045 to start again, or any other suggestions.

Do not despair, get the 23 apps restore using USB here
Get the restore 23 apps here. Put them in usb after unzipped.

Stay at DNS 183... not 163...disconnect ethernet cable, nowpull out power cord and reattach power cord only. Insert usb drive install the apps. Now move into tvpad store. Now reattach ethernet cable. Stay and wait in tv pad store to load the icons maybe a minute or two. Once the store has loaded, go to system tools and pick a file manager like ?????? download it and run it a screen will show a box labeled apk files,click on that will show the apps on the USB drive pick the hk or any app you like from there and run it inside the store.

I have the tvpad4, in Vancouver, Canada.
IP, DNS, Server all working but I now have the error of "Use of tvpad is restricted..."
All of the apps are block and cannot be use.
Anyone has the same issue and is there a fix?
