Hi, after gaining root access and poking around, I tried to start some of the apps thru the telnet session and got some output, which had some addresses on it. With those addresses I did a nslookup thru telnet but also on my pc and as you may have guessed, on my pc, it did not reply the ip adressses.
I am actually looking for the build environment, how can I find out which sources, device drivers etc has been used? With a build environment maybe I can try compiling KODI (XBMC) for my tvpad M121.
As for KODI, I believe people tried but failed to build it before. Something about the video output. I also stopped visiting clubtvpad for over a year so I don't know what I missed.
There was a BSP of this board that was available but not the modifications for tvpad.
Are you able to compile and run tcpdump on the box itself ? If you are, it may reveal a lot of info

Sorry, I cannot compile, I need to gather (reconstruct) a build environment, dunno how yet, because I am not an IT specialist, I am asking somebody smarter than me, to help me out.
I believe that its just a matter of time when the servers for tvpad 1 are taken offline, I just cannot imagine that its worth their while to keep it online.
when I get my build environment together, I will try compiling.
Wonder how do you root the tvpad 121 properly and I was following Tim Chen instruction but did not do the telnet, and was changing the version files to higher number then repack the fw, my purpose was trying to do downgrade from 3.26 to 2.72 but it did not allow me to do it. Can you share some experience on this, thanks in advance.

Followed the instructions, it works great! Thanks for sharing.
After I rooted at version 3.27, I needed to change the version files back to 3.26, I have noticed with some apps, it also sends the version number to the authentification/streaming servers. Sending version 3.27, prevented some apps from working.
Thanks and it works but it raised another question after the downgrade. Wonder how can I correct the version number to the correct one afterward? I guess it would be better to root it and may be I can change it again when I have root access to the tvpad? This is very new to me and Im still learning. thank you
Good news I was just playing with the successfully downgraded to 2.62 and I got connected with the server. It plays the Cantonese apps and 516 apps just fine. I believe they updated the channels list and include the promotion channels for tvpad4.I guess tvpad is back online again. I am going to do the 2.72 upgrade and rooted it. I will post more update when I have it done.
Well I tested V3.26 and my result at this point is inconculdsive, I do need help with FW 3.26 M121(not S) upgrade file,I only have one copy to test. I have a hard time to find a good file online. I need others copy(FW v3.26 only) to confirm my finding. If anyone can show me where I can find a valet download or file. I can try to post more update tonight or tomorrow.

There is version 3.27? Thought 3.26 was the latest for the M121S. Nevermind, I guess you were just changing the version number for root.
I believe he probably did it for upgrade reason only, after upgrade you can always change it back to 3.26 if you have root access. There is no offical above 3.26 for M121(s) that I could find?

Same here, wonder do you have problem connecting to server when you are on 3.26? I did but on 2.72 seems fine just wondering, do you happen to have a 3.26fw I can try because the one I have seems missing some info in it.

Care to share your 2.72 rooted firmware? I'm not that good to root my tvpad 1. Currently runny 3.26 m121
Edit: never mind, got it downgraded.
Edit 2: which app is working for 2.72? i changed the version back to 3.26 in telnet with 2.72 firmware. All the apps I try to run it always say: application does not exist.
Im sorry to reply a bit late and Im glad it works out for you. Are you also experiencing no green man syndrome?

Was experiencing no green man syndrome. that's why i needed to downgrade. now just none of my apps are working. all said " application does not exist. ".
You will need the 2.72 apps, most of the 3.62 will not work unless it is ported. There used to be a good website has lot of these apps and now it is very difficult to find. Timing is just perfect and the website is call clubtvpad. Funny thing is some members claim their 3.26 still working and Im wonder those verion of 3.26 may be a bit different than ours. Just need to find others 3.26 firmware to compare with.
