Seriously, how are you guys getting it to work? I changed the DNS to the 49 one on my tvpad 4, but still nothing. I was able to update the apps but no firmware update. In San Diego, CA.
Who is in Houston that got it working with fw 5.06 without the restriction? Can ya tell me what you'll did or whats the DNS you have? After update fw to 5.06 with auto DNS (75.75.75.75) it doesnt fix the app store. If i manuallt changed the DNS to any of them it still doesn't connect.

Up until 1:30a.m. EST Nov 10, 2015 (which is the last time I've tried) none of the DNS addresses reported on this thread allowed my TVPad 2 (M233_4300_ GVOS3.80) to establish a connection with the TVPad servers (i.e., the Little Man remained grey).
I can verify with you that both 146.0.227.36 and 49.213.10.163 allow me to use ????, ???? and ???? here in Toronto. OTOH, ?TV reports "????????".[/size]
I have a TVP4 in Massachusetts and cannot view any Hong Kong TVB show at all. I am using the 49.x.x.x DNS setting and can watch most of the China channels. Can someone help me to get this working. I have a friedn who has a TVP3 and using the 49.x.x.x DNS have no problem at all watching the TVN show.
If you are on the old FW try using auto DNS settings.

I am from the UK and we have the TVPad4 M418 (UK Version) and we have had issues. We were on the latest update at the time V5.054.
We only really use the first app in the top left corner (??????) to watch mainly TVB stuff:
Initially only "Live Stream" (??) and "Replay" (??) were working (the middle blue and bottom left pink) on version 2.040 and I could not click the top two "Drama" and "Variety Shows" so I updated the app and then I could click them. However a lot of things weren't loading at all.
Now I've tried updating the firmware to V5.06 and installing the 23 app pack for the V5.06 update from here. I did this by first downloading the TV Pad 4 Firmware (file m201-ota.zip) and copied it to a microSD card as I couldn't update from a USB stick. I popped in the microSD card on the home screen and pressed 200981811 on the remote to go to the SD Card Update screen and applied the update. After it finished I downloaded apps Pack 1 (file TVPAD 4 - 23 Apps.zip) and extracted them to a USB stick, plugged it in on the home screen and it automatically opened up a batch install apk screen and I followed the steps to install the apps.
However, it doesn't seem to have changed anything at all really.
"Live Stream" (??) still works but most of the things in "Drama" (???) and "Variety Shows" (??) doesn't work.
Here is the error message when things don't work:
Almost nothing works in "Drama" (???), not even the other country ones. None of the HK ones load.
Very rarely some shows do work though and you can see my internet connection loads it fine:
In "Variety Shows" (??) more things work compared to Drama:
I have a 80/20 fibre line and when I run speed test I get around 60/20 with 7ms ping, never throttled and never traffic shaped so I am sure it is not my internet that's the issue. Weird that "Live Stream" works but not the other TVB/HK stuff.

Foolish me was also messing around in LAN despite having WIFI.
I could watch all live stream but no VODs. Now I can watch all HK stuff inclusive VODs, but not chinese stuff.

We're on WiFi as well, and the LAN is on auto, but when I test the network I just get an abnormal on the Server -1 message. All the other connections are fine. I've tried manually inputting all the info (router, gateway, etc.) in LAN and restarting/unplugging each time I try any of the DNS #'s in the previous posts so I'm assuming it's on the TVPad server's end?

Most of the apps worked. Still up as of time of writing.
I have problem getting my tvpad to work. It was fine 3 hours earlier.
I issues with the gateway and DNS, can you help?
