Why I do it? Do you really think I only doing it for me? I don't even use tvpad1. I'm doing it because of you tvpad1 users. If no one is doing what we do. No problem will be solved. Will you do it? Guess not and thought so. And besides, tvpad1 is already paperweight anyway if you can not use it.
Dookie, thanks for the response. Looks like you're in the best position to figure this out for the m121 users. I guess I was trying to warn the average users that flashing has risks and not won't necessarily solve problems like reformat and clean install windows.
I work on something similar in my day job (embedded busybox, but not streaming video). Sometimes upgrades will fail just because.
I'm not sure if there's a JTAG interface enabled on the tvpad1. People have taken it apart in the past and found some pins that might be it. They weren't able to use them though.
There's a utility that tvpad uses to reload firmwares into the box as a backup plan. It requires connecting some pins or something like that, so not something an average user would want to do.
It's interesting that downgrading to 2.72 would work for tvboxrocks. Thanks for taking the risks to do these experiments.
I believe T1 will eventually fade out or it is already paper weight, Im just wondering how much work will it takes to make it crossplatform to use Android apps? I can understand it would be almost not cost effective to convert the original FW to Full Android but would it be possible to run android apps under a "sand box"?
Im just brain storming and correct me if Im wrong. I like to use this T1 to experiement on others possbility. As tvpad121 mentioned, I believe he is also thinking alternative options when the time comes. I probably could not do much but I do not mind to put out the time to become a tester or anyone I can help to keep the T1 alive.

Thanks for the repackaged "3.27". It rejuvenated a dead M121 that died in May due to other failure unrelated to recent events. Was there a password for root that you created? Or is that some default one?
Thanks for the updates, which is Im really confindence to say it has something to do with the FW, I do not have any issue since installed 2.72 and the newer one just has no way to connect to any server.

Thanks for this and all your efforts on the work. I had already installed the previous "3.27" so I don't think the system will let me do an upgrade to the same version. Are you able to repackage it to version "3.28"? If I had a linux machine I could probably follow the steps and do it myself, but I do not.
Is this the 2.72 firmware but with the version files changed to 3.28?

Since your pad 1 run it ver.3.26 then you can't downgrade back to 2.72, but who tell you the green man will come back if you running ver 2.72 :?
Nowhere really (and no legal issue for me if that was the real question). I moved to Maige and YHTV boxes, so I had no need for the TVPad anymore. I was still regularly logging into the Clubtvpad forum, but I was simply not that active anymore. That was the case until this recent massacre of all the IPTV boxes. So I was forced to plug in my old TVPad again which lead me to this point in time. At least this time around anyone who wants root access to their TVPad1/2/3 unit can have it and use their super powers to help the community further
Since my tvpad m121 (not m121s) v3.26 doesn't have green man anymore, I can't run the root app due to "The user does not exist message". Is there any way to restore the green man (m121)?
Anyone has wireshark capture of authentication process? My TVPAD3 green man is always on, not sure why but it came that way so I have no way to capture authentication process. If authentication process can be hacked then people can still use it with Phanto app to load their own P2P streams...
Good to see you here, Phantoman! I kept wondering what happened to you. I didn't look at clubtvpad for a long time and it was gone when I looked. I was that guy that works with embedded firmware and qt but never actually contributed to any hacking effort. I wasn't the mole though. I still work on the picture frame firmware here in SoCal.
Edit again: Did someone eventually make more progress with the xbmc/kodi port to tvpad1?

I searched with google but couldn't find it.

Here the one for firmware 2.72.
Oh, root / tvpad for login.
Since my tvpad m121 (not m121s) v3.26 doesn't have green man anymore, I can't run the root app due to "The user does not exist message". Is there any way to restore the green man (m121)?

How to permanently activate the green man on TVPad1
