I am from Maryland area. We have TVpad 3. From Weds, the live function ????doesnt work anymore. Server test reports error -1. cant connect to TVpad store. Try to setup the network from automatic setting to DNS 49, but it asks for IP, sun-net mask and gateway which are empty with original automatic setting. Anyone can help? Maybe use your setting will work? really appreciate. My parents start to be a little fussy without TV to watch.

Please follow this way when you using wi fi set up
1.do it in automatic setup then you got the all the number in (IP
address subnet ask and gateway ) copy it
2.and fill all the number in manuel setup in field of (IP
address subnet ask and gateway ) and change the DNS to 49...........
Try it

You need to Auto assign an IP first in order for the tvpad to get an IP address. Once you get an IP from your router then you can manually change the DNS.
Change the DNS of your LAN or Wifi settings to 49.213.10.163. press OK, than power cycle your TVPAD. It work in San Francisco and Boston hope it will work in your area.

What this means is that the WiFi application on your box cannot detect IP via DHCP, or it is stuck on a static IP mode.
It is quite possible that during to 'factory restore' process, some part of the OS on your box (especially the networking software) was messed up.
May be somebody on this forum has a copy of vanilla OS 5.054 that you can borrow to restore your box one more time.
If you are not getting IPs then perhaps your unit isn't connecting to the wifi at all.
Maybe your wifi password entered is incorrect ?

@Dookie:
Thanks for tips on TVPad may have issue with FIOS, did not realize this before.
Everyone is trying to get a DNS which works. Sometimes, a working DNS number is found; but, it is soon shut down. The U.S. court orders, which the Korean and Chinese broadcasters won in recent lawsuits, allows the courts to order the U.S. based DNS servers to shut down service to tvpads across the U.S.
The broadcasters probably have agents who look on the internet, at web sites, such as this one, for DNS servers which are providing tvpad service in the U.S.; and ordering them to cease this service.
Every time, someone posts a new DNS, the agents see those numbers, and have them shutdown. So, how are new DNS numbers going to be passed along to others? I don't know. Does someone?
It's even possible for tvpad corporation to offer subscriptions, if they can work out a deal with the broadcasters.
That's not quite how it works. They can't shut down servers which are not in the states.

When I change to manual and enter the DNS 49xxxx, it showed error that I cannot leave the ip address, subnet mask and gateway fields empty.
Therefore I can't manually change the DNS. What can I do?
rebooting box

For wired connection, the addresses will show up.
I can watch live TVB news now. But Kong Yue quick look is still not working with the 49dns
When on wi-fi, my IP address, Gateway, Subnet mask, and DNS are all 0.0.0.0.
When on ethernet and using 49 DNS, I am connected with limited viewing capabilities...but this is still better than nothing!
Anybody know why this is and how to get it to work on wi-fi?
With wired, some apps work, but still not normal with 49 dns. I am in Orange County, California.
Not sure whether this will ever be fixed. We primarily watched Kong Yue quick look. And this app is not working.
