VPN for TVPAD 2 would not work.

I've followed all the instructions and watched the videos pertaining to the installation of a vpn router, and I've subscribed to PIA. I have set my router to use a Hong Kong IP address ( I'm from the US) using L2TP instead of PPTP, and my computer recognizes that my IP address is in Hong Kong. But the TVPAD keeps using my local IP address instead of the foreign address. Even my mobile device sees that it is a HK address. I've tried configuring the TVPAD wirelessly and with ethernet, but the results are the same, the green man won't show up. I've never touched the DNS information. I'm only using one router, which is the NETGEAR WNR1000. Any help would be appreciated.

So the tvp is connected directly to your vpn router?

Whats the subnet for your home network and your vpn network?

I think it was 255.255.255.0. Should they be different?

Not sure if you could get your one router going with it.

Does your modem give out LAN ip addresses ?

Would I need two routers to go with this setup?

Actually you said the computers and the devices are using the HK IP right ? So then it must be working.

On the TVPad itself, are the apps updated ?

The TVPad is supposed to use the local IP address as the router itself would use the VPN Server assigned IP address which would be the WAN (Wide Area Network) address. The computer if you use anything outside your local network would always show the VPN's address. You should change the DNS information as just because you're on VPN, unless the DNS gives good information for tvpad servers, it will not connect since DNS is like a directory assistance, it's the one that tells the tvpad where to go. All the VPN will help with is for the destination servers to allow you to connect as you will no longer appear to be originating from the U.S. anymore.
