Can someone help me choose a VPN for TVPad 2?

I was looking at the list of VPNs here http://tvpadtalk.com/3/1108/working_list_of_vpn_providers_for_tvpad

Has anyone gotten any of these to work with TVPad 2s?

You are going to need one with pptp/l2tp and use a physical router.

I just signed up to Private Internet Access to try to get my tvpad2 working, but can't get it to work. I'm not sure if it's the vpn or the tvpad itself, which was working fine until a few days ago.

The app I'm using on the tvpad 2 is:
    718392820.png
    ????
    v1.27
    377KB

I'm not sure if there is a newer version or an alternate app for hk drama vod. It was working until a few days ago.

The tvpad itself is at GVOS 3.94, which I think is the latest. The greenman is GREEN.

Run the n+ store after the tvpad is on the VPN

I found a working config for my tvpad2:
      * Private Internet Access * VPN installed on old secondary router (wrt54gsv4) * TVPAD DNS setting: 49.213.10.163 (super important!)
    Before vpn, nothing worked.
With vpn, I could get to the n+ store, but not much else worked, not even the tvpad store.
With vpn + 49 dns, everything works.

    A few questions:

    1) Did you re-flash your wrt54gsv4 router with dd WRT? If you did, which build did you use?
    2) Can you take some screenshots of your settings?

I have PIA too and the HK server works fine for me. I'm using an Asus router with Merlin firmware

I have it flashed with Tomato by shibby (build 124):
    http://tomato.groov.pl/download/K24/build5x-124-EN/tomato-ND-1.28.5x-124-VPN.trx

In Basic > Network > WAN section:
    Type: PPTP
    PPTP Gateway: hk.privateinternetaccess.com
    Options: require-mppe-128
    Connect Mode: Keep Alive
    Redial Interval: 10
    MTU: Default 1460

I chose PPTP instead of L2TP because I think the lighter encryption of PPTP would be less taxing for my 12 year old hardware.
It is also possible to create a tunnel via 'VPN Tunneling' > OpenVPN Client. Maybe also via PPTP Client but I didn't try it.

Guys I just want to add another data point to help those who are using the legacy TV Pad 2.

I did get my TV Pad 2 working again with OpenVPN, DNS 49.213.10.163, and installing the updated n+ store app. I was not able to get it working with PPTP or L2TP for reasons I'm still trying to figure out. I used TorGuard instead of PIA though.

This is their FAQ on how to configure OpenVPN
    https://torguard.net/knowledgebase.php?action=displayarticle&id=106

I connected to their Japanese Server.

I am going to try to setup a second router now since my whole network is currently going through the VPN.
