The crooks at Sling are taking this opportunity to offer you an alternative. $99 for the first year and then $15 a month.

The promotion is available at sling.com/tvpad1 (Chinese language) or sling.com/tvpad2 (English language).

Does anyone know if Sling TV offers vod (on demand) TVB shows? Looks like the subscription only comes with live channels..

No they don't as not even DISH offers VOD for TVB. DISH's TVB is also available on Roku.

I have DISH JadeWorld on satellite which is why TVPad dead or not isn't a big problem with me as the time I had the TVPad2 since 2013, I haven't used it more than 1-2 hours and it's usually for the VOD because my DISH HD DVR did not record the show correctly that day or there was a outage.

Yes, it's VOD. You can watch back as far as a week. They are mainly TVBUSA programs. The Sling App for android has a tendency to crash. It's not very intuitive for parents to use.

The package I have on 30 days free trial is $30/month. There are 4-5 TVB channels and one HD. The Nexus Player was on sale for $50. So I gave it try.

I think one would be better off getting the vChannels app for android or IOS and use Chrome cast or AppleTV on the big screen.

The first month of Slingtv is free if anyone wants to try it.

Never knew they had a VOD offering. DISH Satellite's JadeWorld doesn't have VOD from what I can tell. For $30+ a month, I rather stick with DISH Satellite and use DISH Anywhere to watch things from other devices since the satellite doesn't share my internet bandwidth.

DO NOT TRUST SLING TV. IT IS ONLY LIVE TV AND NO VOD.

Before I signed up online and I called Sling TV phone number (Cantonese)...waiting for three hours and no one answered my phone. Therefore I signed up online. After I got the service and not happy on what they provided then I called to Sling TV trying to get refund on $99 or less. However, they told me I have to wait for 72 hours to get the answer. Then I talked with the supervisor in English, he told me why I did not read the terms and conditions and they will not refund to me. WHAT A GREAT SERVICE !!!!!!

I prefer to buy DVD to watch all TVB drama.

There is VOD. You can watch back as far as 1 to 2 weeks. For $99 + FREE ROKU 2, I believe this is a steal. I am currently subscribed. If you have any problem let me know.

What VOD is it? Is it each episode of TVB drama, or a sorted list of all the programmings like in Tvpad?
