HTV A2 failed to connect to Google account

Hi all,

I have not posted on this forum for months and I hope all of you are well.

My HTV A2 running Lollipop (5.1.1) worked well for the past 4+ years.

3 weeks ago, the device crashed, and then the Google account I set up on the device suddenly could not connect to Goggle. No matter how many times I tried to connect, the error message returned was "username/password does not match"

This means I lost connection to Play Store and Youtube subscribed channels.

I have followed multiple suggestion on how to diagnose and fix 'not able to log in using Google account' on Android device from the internet, but nothing worked.

Has anybody experienced Google account log in issue before? If so, how did you fix it?

I have a suspicion that HTV A2 is approaching its end-of-life, but I hope I can squeeze some more usage out of it.

    Try log out or removed your account and log back in.

    I did, but no use. Anyway, this A2 box has finally reached its end of life. I received a end-of-service notice yesterday.

    It served us well for past 4+ years. Will probably get a different brand as replacement
