If TVPad4 has legal issues with apps, their new 5, or Blue TV or whatever, will have the same problem. Won't they? Yet they are selling new TVPad5. I won't bite for sure.
Back in 2015, padman posted a thread on how to revive old TVPads using VPN connection. Wonder if it still works for these older units. If yes, will it work for TVPAD4 too?
I absolutely hate my htv5, outage, poor picture quality, can't fast forward, looping and having buffering issues all the time. Bought my in law a Bluetv few months ago, no issues or what so ever, better pictures and faster loading. My bluetv arrived today, love it. If I can get two years out of it I am happy.
Hey guys, My dad restored the device hoping to get some more VOD downloads from 港粵網路電視, but the last one was 27/06/17. He doesn't know that the service has stopped after 26/07/17. Now that our tvpad4 has been restored to factory settings, we're having issues connecting to the internet (Error code 53). Have tried using the DNS servers mentioned in another thread, I believe it's the 158.132.187.187. Is there a way to resolve this? If not, what other cantonese tv boxes does everyone reccomend? My mum uses it to watch a lot of Hong Kong dramas, and my dad uses it to watch chinese news. Anything that caters to both would be great. Thanks in advance for your help!
Edit: Error code 53, not 23. Edit 2: We're using this box from New Zealand, as opposed to the US.
No the box still working like normal android box , not like Pad 1,2,3
Does that mean I can still install apps via USB to it? If yes, what is the best the app installer at this point in time? I know it has been discussed in the past, as far as 2015. I am asking for up-to-date recommendation. I can't find batch installer.
@ryan1818 If you are outside of US then you don't need to change the dns. Just install the apps manually using a usb. Look at the instruction on tvpadnews.com
Dear community - With TVPad4 counting down at it's end of life cycle. I have accepted the fact to start shopping for a replacement box. Personally, I do like the ease, organize and responsiveness of TVPad4 with the exception of their business ethics. From what I read there are a few good HK content boxes (HTV5, FunTV and BlueTV). I think each company will eventually have to force their users to upgrade their box similar to TVPad tactic. They sort of have keep in flow revenue to maintain their business expenses. The question is as a community which company/box we should support in the market place? Do we consider BlueTV/TVPad a greedy company in which we shouldn't continue to support even though is a good product? Do anyone have a strong preference as to which box to purchase? I like to hear feedbacks so that I can make the next purchase. Please advise. Thank you and look forward to your responses...
